Who I am Ten years ago I was care free. Ten years ago a little girl swung on a swing In the bright shimmer of the summer water. Ten years ago my blond hair flew through the sky Like a kite in the autumn air. I am sixteen. Eight years ago I wanted to dance. Eight years ago I started my dream, Slipping on my jazz shoes and ballet slippers, Trying to do the steps correctly. Eight years ago I sang out of tune, Trying to be like the future I saw, On stage. I am sixteen. Five years ago I was hiding and alone. Five years ago I couldn’t answer If someone asked “Who are you?” Five years ago I lost someone who meant the world to me. Five years ago I was on the verge of losing someone else. I am sixteen. One year ago I started my new life. One year ago I found who I truly am. One year ago I met my true best friend.
